About Us

1st Crowthorne Scout Group is one of the oldest groups in the Country and we’ve been around for over 100 years.

We’ve also fast growing! Recently adding a new Beaver colony, we have have:

• 3 Beaver Colonies
• 2 Cub Packs
• 2 Scout Troops

We have over 150 young people and 30+ Leaders, we have a strong Executive Committee and amazing parents who regularily help out on different events throughout the year.

We also have a strong social set-up and regularily hold fun evenings like BBQs, Quiz Nights, a now annual Curry Night, Wine tasting and much more!

The highlight of the year for everyone has to be our Annual Family Camp held at Ferny Crofts in the New Forest.

We encourage all our parents to get involved – either helping at a couple of evenings a year, helping to organise social activities, or at the moment – Helping with our exciting plans to raise £400,000 to build a brand new HQ

Scouts are do-ers and give-it-a-go-ers. Yes, we go camping, hiking, swimming, abseiling, cycling and canoeing. But we also get to hang out with our friends every week – having fun, playing games, working in a team and taking on new challenges.

Every week we give around the country almost half a million 6-25 year olds the skills they need for school, college, university, the job interview, the important speech, the tricky challenge and the big dreams: the skills they need for life.

Everyone’s welcome here. All genders, races and backgrounds. Regardless of your child’s physical ability – there’s a Scout adventure out there waiting for them. And we’ll help them find it.
