2021 – Covid, Scouting, Schooling and everything else!

Date: 30th Dec 2020 Author: Web Master

Well – we have survived Christmas, woken to the great news that another Vaccine has been approved for the UK ..  and that a slight change has been made to get as many people vaccinated with at least one injection as fast as possible!!

We’ve already started getting emails from Schools with arrangements for testing – but as we hit 53k infection on the 29th ..   i wouldn’t be surprised if U-Turn number 432 is announced today – I suspect that schools wont be going back as per the plan announced after the schools closed for Christmas.

So where does that leave us?

As we are in TIER 4 – That means NO face-to-face Scouts activities may take please until further notice.     Basically, We need to prepare for Zoom until probably half term ..  and I REALLY hope that we will moving From RED > AMBER > YELLOW > GREEN as the vaccine is deployed.    AND I am still planning that Group Camp in June will happen

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
